Home From Tour

After five weeks and about fifteen thousand kilometres we played the final show on our run supporting The Gaslight Anthem in Columbus Ohio last Saturday night. The crowd at Newport Music Hall on High street was one of the best of the tour and the night put a cap on one of my favourite tours I've had the chance to be a part of. When I first started performing as Northcote in 2009, I was playing "My My, Hey Hey" by Neil Young, "Trusty Chords" by Hot Water Music and "59 Sound" by the Gaslight Anthem. I have been so fortunate to have supported some of my favourite artists and being on tour with the Gaslight Anthem was really exciting and inspiring. It's hard to pick out a highlight from the tour, we had a great time each night and really enjoyed meeting everyone at the shows.

I wanted to say thanks to anyone who came to the shows who might be reading this. The crowds were very supportive and we had a blast being on those stages and celebrating with you.

Next up, we are off April and May before a North East solo tour supporting Tim Barry alongside Allison Weiss in June. Tim is one of my favourite people I have met in music and I'm looking forward to getting back out. It's going to be a busy stretch starting with the Tim Barry tour especially August going into the fall. I'll be plenty busy at home in Victoria working on getting back out on tour and releasing new music. Stayed tuned for news and have a great Spring.

Sincerely,

Matt

PS - When we were on tour with Twin Forks in Canada back in November, we had the chance to record a Pinball Session in Guelph. I performed three of the songs from "Invisible Diamonds", you can download them for free, and check out all the other great sessions they have and the artists they support!
